I was moved to hear that Bob had passed. I was thinking of him just the week before. He was one of my favorite people at EPA, as we began our careers. He and I spent six weeks together as we matriculated through the Remedial Project Managers Academy, along with Stephanie and Glen (we called ourselves "The Mod Squad").
I believe he and I were matched word for word and in balance with respect to our playful sarcasm. Though I always called him "crusty," he had a great heart. I recall us all being inlisted to help him find a Flounder figurine for Robbie when the Little Mermaid came out (not having any kids I had NO idea what we were looking for!).
I offer this amusing, personal snapshot of Bob's life as a lasting reflection of a life well lived. Having been down this road several times, I encourage the family with these two thoughts; Though no one "knows" for real how you feel I KNOW two things for sure: "weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5)and "...all things work together for the good..." (Romans 8:28). May you take comfort in these words.
