My condolences to the Ballard family.

Matt Flack, March 10, 2010 Brian was a great friend since we met in college and became teammates, roommates and friends. He is the kind of person that the "good" in our world is about. A smart, hard working, honest, loyal, patriotic, optimistic, fun loving man who put others before himself. To his daughters: Your father spoke very proudly of all of you when we got together. There is no doubt that he loved you very much. I feel very fortunate to have known Brian in my life. I will miss him. My deepest sympathy goes out to his family. May God be with you my friend.

Michael Lowden, March 11, 2010 I would first like to wish our deepest condolences to both the Ballard and McCarty families. My wife Linda and I were both shocked and saddened to hear of all the news over the past few months regarding Brian's health and death. I wish there was a way to express my feelings about the loss for Brian's 3 daughters and wife. We knew each other since 1964. These past few days thinking of him has convinced me that I have never met another person that comes as close to being the person that we all strive to be as Brian did. And possibly the best personality trait he had was his humility. I am sure knowing Brian made me better in many ways. I am proud to have been his friend. And my heart just aches for all the rest of us, especialy the girls knowing that Brian is gone from our lives. Mike & Linda Lowden.
George Doring, March 11, 2010 Brian was always the center of a conversation. His ability to remember things from the past, to speak to most any topic and all the people he knew was astonishing. My memories of Brian will always include our summers at Brookside; the swim meets, the activities, hanging out watching the kids play. He loved that place. He will be there in spirit this summer watching his girls swim and cheering them on to do their best!
Donna and Eric Conova, March 11, 2010 A truly "nice guy" and a person anyone would like to have as a friend. He will be sadly missed by all of us.
