Helen A. Cieciel, age 81, died on March 11, 2010 at Underwood Memorial Hospital in Woodbury, NJ.
Born and raised in Camden, she lived in Glassboro for over 35 years. She was a Registered Nurse for over 45 years, working at Cooper Hospital for 30 years, before retiring as a Nursing Supervisor in 1992. She was a member of the Cooper Hospital Nurses' Alumni and Rowan University Alumni Associations, and an active member of AARP. She served as a Literacy Volunteer of America, was a lector for Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, and was an Income Tax Counselor for the elderly through the AARP. She had a special fondness for animals. She was predeceased by her brother Henry and sister Wanda Kowalski.
Beloved sister and aunt, she is survived by her sister Irene Williams, her nieces and nephews: Lawrence (Susan) Kowalski, Carol (James) Cargill, Joyce (Mike) Amstutz, Richard (Chris) Kowalski, Russell (Debbie) Williams, Sandra (Philip) Nicastro, Gregory (Tammy) Kowalski, and Debora (Tom) Hockenbury, also 18 great nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Monday from 7 to 9 PM and Tuesday from 9:30-10:30am in the KELLEY FUNERAL HOME, 125 Pitman Ave., Pitman, NJ. Funeral mass at 11 AM in Our Lady Queen of Peace Church. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery, Chews Landing. The family would appreciate Mass Cards for Helen in lieu of flowers. Memorials may be shared at www.kelleyfhpitman.com.
