He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1951, he immediately joined the US Army, where he proudly served in Korea during the Korean War and received an Honorable Discharge. Walt was an avid fan of all Philadelphia Sports Teams, especially the Phillies. His true passion in life so, were the finer things of life, he enjoyed the Opera, the Broadway Shows, the Philadelphia Orchestra, cooking, gardening, the Beach at Cape May; his Bombay Sapphire Gin and Red Wine. Yes, he remained somewhat of a Rascal right into his 80's, but he truly enjoyed life to the fullest. Even on his last day he was reminiscing about his recent trip to Europe, where he explored the ancient Palaces of Greece; the Castles of Germany and of course the Red Wines fresh from the Barrel. He died suddenly but peacefully surrounded by his family and friends. Walt was a very kind and intelligent man. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him. At Walt's request, there will be a private cremation with no funeral services. A sea-burial, to celebrate his life, will be held off Cape May for his family and friends at a later date.
