Obituary of Francis Eugene Wallace

Francis Eugene Wallace, Jr. "Gene" age 60 was called home on October 28, 2015. Gene will be missed for his sense of humor, wonderful smile and for the overall good guy that he was. He was the son of Florence Elizabeth Hunt (nee Kane) and the late Francis Eugene Wallace Sr. He was adored by his loving wife of 34 years, Virginia "Ginny" F. (nee Northrup). He will also be missed by his children Louis (Marcella), Michael, Amy L. (Edward) Grippi, Christopher M. (Gina Watson), Stephanie M. (fiancé Christopher Peralta), grandchildren Brooke, Brielle, Maddie, Gena, Amber, Michael, Amber, Autumn and William, siblings Barry J. (Maribeth), Billy (Debbie), Kenny (Joe), Lisa M. (Tony) Dasilva and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his stepfather Paul Hunt. Gene was an elevator repair technician for the last 35 years getting his start at Mowrey Elevator, Davie, FL where he met Ginny. For the last 18 years he worked for Metro Elevator, West Chester, PA. He was a great provider for his family with his expertise in this field. His hobby was Ham radio communications operating under the call name N2IMK. He held an Advance License, was a member of the Gloucester County Amateur Radio Club GCARC and was past president of the club. He earned several special contest certificates over the years for his communication skills. Gene had a life long love of hockey, having played and refereed and was a loyal fan of the Philadelphia Flyers. Gene, his father and stepfather all loved Barbershop harmony singing together in the Pine Barrens Barbershop Chorus of Cherry Hill. Gene was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, holding numerous callings, including Stake Emergency Communications Specialist (Ham Radio), Ward Family History Consult and in that calling manned the Vineland NJ Family History Center as a staff member along with his wife who is the centers Assistant Director. He and his wife were the Center Directors from 2003-2007. He was also a home teacher in the ward and past assistant High Priest Group Leader. He served as Ward Building Maintenance Specialist for quite a few years. He was a faithful member and helped out whenever he could. His Ward family will miss him terrible. Viewing will be on Saturday at 10am in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 259 Lambs Rd, Sewell, NJ 08080. Funeral service will be at 11am.
