Obituary of Richard Johnston Ambacher

Richard Johnston Ambacher, Jr., age 82 died on July 19, 2016. Richard lived in Glassboro most of his life. He received his Bachelor's degree from Glassboro State College in 1961 and his Master of Fin Arts from Yale University in 1964. Richard began his career in the Communication Department at Glassboro State College in 1966 and retired as Professor of Communications from Rowan University in 2000. He was Chairman of the Board at Gloucester County College, served on the Gloucester County Library Committee and the Brown and Gold Alumni Assn. Richard was an avid golfer and enjoyed golfing at Woodbury and Tall Pines Country Clubs. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Elaine (nee Bonelli), sons Richard J. III (Marge), John J. (Karen), grandchildren Katie, Liz, Alissa, Emily, brothers Harry, Robert and Bruce and sisters Heather Samit and Candace Parkins. He was predeceased by his brother Jeffrey. Friends may greet the family on Monday after 10am in the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ. Memorial service will be at 11am.
