Obituary of Joyoti M. Fleming

Joyoti "Joy" Mukhoti Fleming died peacefully on December 1, 2016 in Paulsboro, NJ at the age of 58. Joy is survived by her children Stephen (fiancé Mark) of Philadelphia, PA and Samidha (fiancé Ryan) of Southington, CT. She is predeceased by her parents, Santi and Bela Mukhoti, and sister Guari Mona. ``````````````` Born in Calcutta, India, Joy lived in many countries across the world including Russia, Canada and England. Within a few years of settling in the United States, Joy graduated from Glassboro High School. She moved on to earn her Bachelors degrees in English and Economics from Rutgers University and her J.D. from Rutgers School of Law-Camden. Joy took pride in her career as an attorney working for the Atlantic City Casino Control Commission and insurance companies in New Jersey prior to retiring. Joy valued family and spent a significant part of her life caring for others. A loving mother, Joy enjoyed nothing more than to spend time with her children. She took pleasure in traveling to warm climates such as Mexico, Bahamas, and Barbados. Dedicated to her cultural community, Joy was heavily connected with the Bengali Cultural Society of South Jersey as an instructor of SAT preparation and supporter of the youth arts program. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 10th at Kelley Funeral Home in Pitman, NJ. Visitation from 9am-11am immediately followed by a funeral service at 11am. All are welcome to attend to celebrate Joy's life. A reception will follow. The family would like to thank the staff of ManorCare of West Deptford for their care, efforts, and dedication.
