Joan K. Maguet (nee Kirby), age 86 died on May 1, 2017 in the Pitman Manor where she lived for 10 years. Born and raised in Bridgeton, NJ, Joan lived in Clayton most of her life before moving to Pitman. Joan was a graduate of Bridgeton High School in 1948 and received her Bachelor's Degree from Ursinus College in 1952. She was a health and physical education teacher and also a field hockey coach at Edgewood High School for many years. After retirement, Joan and her late husband John, sold lacrosse and field hockey equipment throughout South Jersey and at many tournaments along the East Coast. Joan was also an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Clayton and the Pitman United Methodist Church.
She was predeceased by her husband John and survived by her brother William (Priscilla) Kirby, nieces Linda Walter, Heather and Pamela Kirby and great-niece and nephew Laura and Paul Walter.
Friends may greet the family on Saturday, May, 13, 2017 at 10am in the Pitman Manor, 535 N. Oak Ave, Pitman, NJ. The funeral service will be at 11am. Interment will be at Fernwood Cemetery, Bridgeton.
