George Earl Friebis, age 85 years, died January 28 at Washington Twp. Senior Living. Born in Philadelphia, he attended Philadelphia Public Schools and graduated from Germantown High School. He attended Temple University where he earned a B.S. in Business Administration and a Master's Degree in Education. George attended Glassboro State College where he earned a Master's Degree in Library Science and Villanova University where he earned his Doctoral Degree in Higher Education Administration. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and was honorably discharged. Predeceased by his wife, Gayle E. (nee Jacobson) and his parents George and Eleanor Friebis.
He is survived by his daughter Karen L (Rich) Anderson, and son Jason E. Friebis. Also survived by his grandchildren, Sarah K. and Alexis. N. Anderson, Dylan and Blake Friebis, and great grandson Joseph Cole Levine.
George was an honest man, who valued honesty in others. He loved animals, especially dogs, and he owned many throughout his lifetime. Services will be private. Memories may be shared at www.kelleyfhpitman.com.
