Obituary of Anthony Rudy Capelli

Anthony Rudy Capelli, Sr., age 83 died on Febraury 3, 2018. Born and raised in Hammonton, Anthony lived in Pitman most of his life. He retired to Florida for 7 years and moved back to Williamstown where he has lived for 14 years. Anthony served in the US Marines from 1952-1955 during the Korean War. He was a carpenter for Local 393, Gloucester, retiring in 1996 after 30 years. Anthony coached Little League and Junior League baseball in Pitman for 40 years. He was active in the Boy Scouts and a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church and St. Anthony's Mutual Aid Society. He also belonged to the VFW and played on their baseball team. Survived by his wife of 62 years Margaret M. (nee Burkel), children Joseph (Maria), Regina (Mike) Macool, Anthony Jr. (Michele), Michael (JoAnn), Louis (Amy), Walter, nephews Thomas and Scott Hall, 17 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by grandson Joey and brother Thomas. Friends may greet the family on Saturday 9-11:30am in the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ. Carpenters Union and Marine Corps Honors at 11:30. Funeral mass will be at 12noon in Mary, Mother of Mercy Parish (Our Lady Queen of Peace Church), 161 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ. Entombment with Military Honors immediately following mass at Hillcrest Mausoleum.
