Richard Matlack Oliver, 66, died on May 2 at home, in Mickleton, NJ, where he lived for 26 years. In addition to living in Mickleton, NJ, he has a home in Bowers Beach, DE. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Bonnie Gene (nee Deacon), his mother and stepfather Ruth (Youngblood) and Reverend Robert DuBois, brothers Robert (Nancy) and David (Joy), brother-in-law Thomas (Colleen) Deacon and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Richard's father, Edward S. Oliver predeceased him. Richard was born in Camden, NJ on August 16, 1948. He grew up in Barrington, NJ and was a graduate of Haddon Heights High School in 1968. He was a graduate of Quaker City Aviation, Philadelphia,PA. Rich entered the world of aviation working for Altair Airlines then was employed in Corporate Aviation at Sun Oil Company. Rich joined Berwind Corporation as Chief of Maintenance in the Corporate Flight Department where he retired from. Rich embraced his love for engines by both building and restoring numerous cars, boats and airplanes. He enjoyed membership in the Antique Airplane Association, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Assoc., Massey Air Museum, North American Trainers Assoc., DeHaviland Moth Assoc., Old Farts on Wheels Car Club, and the Antique Outboard Assoc. He was also an honorary lifetime member of the Bowers Fire Company. Friends may greet the family on Friday after 10 am in the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Avenue, Pitman, NJ.
