Robert Rettig, Sr., age 76 years, of Glassboro, NJ, passed away after a lengthy illness on June 29. He was born in the Bronx, NY and lived there until 1955 when he moved to Oakland, NJ with his wife Jean (nee Finning). Bob had a career in truck and forklift repair which spanned over 40 years. He founded his own repair company, Ramapo Lift Truck, in 1980. He retired and moved to Glassboro in 1992. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed gardening and singing with the Glassboro Seniors Choir. Bob won the Silver Skates Speed Skating Competition in 1947 at Madison Square Garden. He will be sadly missed by his wife Jean, his 5 children, Cindy Sprinkle of Chester, VA, Bob, Jr., of Glassboro, Terry of Wall, NJ, Jim of West Hartford, CT, and Gene of Glassboro, 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Jean Hayes of Burlington, VT, and his brother Arthur Rettig of Massapequa, NY. There will be a memorial mass on Monday, July 3 at 11 AM in St. Bridget's Church, Church St., Glassboro, NJ, where friends may call after 10 AM. Interment private.
