Obituary of Gloria Brackney

Gloria H. Brackney nee Prendergast was the daughter of Joseph and Betty Prendergast and the beloved wife of Norman Brackney, who preceded her in death. Gloria was the loving mother of Joseph Brackney, Sr. (Donna) and Elizabeth Virnelson. She had 6 grandchildren; Joseph Brackney, Jr. , Marleena Young,(Jeff), Jason Brackney (Amy), Lydnsey McMillan (Beau) , Michele Virnelson (Brandon) and Michael Virnelson ( Danielle). Gloria had 3 great grand daughters, Peyton Young, Haliey Young and Riley Virnelson. Gloria was a long time resident of Pitman. She worked for many years at the National Bank of Mantua as a manger in the book keeping department. She later worked at The Gloucester County Federal Saving and Loan. She loved the banking world, had great people skills, and lived for the interaction of the residents and neighbors of her town. After retirement, she stayed active attending events of her grand children and traveling around the U.S. She spent the last years of her life in Port Saint Lucie Florida. Gloria will be buried in the town she loved, Pitman, N.J. Viewing will be on Monday, July 31st at the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ from 9 to 10:15. A mass will be said in her honor at 10:30 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church (Mary, Mother of Mercy Parish), Pitman Ave, Pitman, followed by burial at the Hillcrest Cemetery.
