Obituary of Kenneth W. Hickman

Kenneth W. Hickman, age 80 years, died September 17 at the home of his son, Ken, in Pennsville, NJ. Born in Woodbury, he graduated from Pitman High School in 1956, and served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1956-1960 as an HM2 (Hospital Corpsman). He attended Glassboro State College before going to work for E.I. DuPont Co. in Gibbstown for 10 years where he ran the hospital lab as a Medical Technologist. He worked in sales for a number of years selling medical supplies to labs and hospitals, and had his own construction/aluminum siding business before joining the Pitman Police Department. Kenneth retired as a Sargent from the Police Department in 1992. After retirement, he worked as a Maintenance Mechanic for the Pitman Board of Education for 6 years until moving to Millsboro, DE in 1998. He was a member of Pitman Masonic Lodge #197 and a lifelong member of the Pitman United Methodist Church until moving to Delaware. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and traveling. Kenneth was preceded in death by his loving wife Faye Anne Sigler Hickman. He is survived by his children; Sara Beth Hickman DeLuca (Ray), Kenneth Mark Hickman (Karen), Todd Matthew Hickman (Debrah); grandchildren; Darla Thompson, Chelsi Thompson, Kenneth G. Hickman, Marissa DeLuca, Matthew Hickman, William Hickman, Rebecca Hickman, Aaron Hickman; and great grandchild; Ryder Thompson. Friends may call on Saturday from 9:30 to 11am in the KELLEY FUNERAL HOME, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ. Masonic service at 11am, with funeral service immediately following.
