Obituary of Gary Wriggins

Gary W. Wriggins passed away at the age of 47 on Sunday, February 18, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Woodbury, New Jersey on October 1, 1970. Gary was a graduate of Glassboro High School, where he was born and raised. He was a scholar athlete who received the prestigious Walter Marshall, Esg. Award. Gary was a graduate of the University of Delaware, where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Political Science. He began his career in banking with MBNA and was most recently employed as Vice President of Credit Card Services with JP Morgan Chase. Gary was involved in the Newark National Little League for more than 10 years. He was the Vice President of the Junior and Senior Leagues, was on the Board as Chief Umpire, and was a dedicated coach. Gary was a passionate Delaware Blue Hens, Philadelphia Eagles, and Phillies fan. He also enjoyed a good game of Texas Hold 'em. Gary loved cruising, especially around the Caribbean, vacationing in Sea Isle City, and socializing at the Maple Valley Swim Club. His greatest joy was being with his beloved family and was the number one fan at his children's sporting events. Gary is survived by his wife of 21 years, Laura (Sica) Wriggins, his children, Jack and Lainey Wriggins, his mother, Dorothy Clay, his step-mother, Elizabeth Wriggins, his brother, Jay Wriggins and wife, Kim, his sisters-in-law, Letitia Desciscio and husband, Michael, Jeanne Marie Green and husband, Jared, Samantha Nelson and husband, Chris, his step-sisters, Barbara Homak and husband, Drew, Melinda Ota and husband, Barry, and his nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his devoted dog, Maya. Gary was predeceased by his father, Thomas Wriggins and his step-father, Kenneth Clay. Family and friends are invited to the Viewing and Memorial services at the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 308 Possum Park Road, Newark on Friday, February 23. The Viewing will begin at 11AM with the Memorial service immediately following at 12PM. Family and friends are also invited to his Memorial Service at 3PM on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the First Presbyterian Church of Pitman, 305 S. Broadway, Pitman, NJ 08071. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Gary may be made to Seasons Hospice, 200 Continental Drive, Suite 407, Newark, DE 19713 or to the charity of donor's choice.
