Obituary of Lucy E. Stetter

Lucy E. Stetter (nee Elwood), age 90 of Pitman, died on July 1, 2018. Lucy graduated from Mercy School of Nursing. She began her career as a Staff Nurse at Underwood Memorial Hospital. She later became the Associate Director of Nursing Education at West Jersey Hospital and Coordinator of the Nursing Program at University of Pennsylvania. Lucy was an Associate Professor and later Head of the Nursing Department for Gloucester County College for 18 years, retiring in 1991. Lucy served on the Kennedy Hospital Board and was active with Habitat for Humanity, the American Red Cross and Meals on Wheels. She was also an active member of St. James Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School, served on the Altar Committee, Worship and Music Committee and was a greeter. She was predeceased by her husband George A. Survived by her children David (Nancy), Martin, Donald and grandchildren Kelly and Henry. Friends may greet the family on Friday 9-11am in the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ. Funeral service will be at 11am. Interment private in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
