Obituary of Leon Omar Pappas

Leon Omar Pappas, Sr, age 82, of Washington Township passed away peacefully on August 31, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was predeceased by his wife, Emily Mae (Rassmussen). Leon is survived by his loving children Donna Marie (David) Opdyke, Leon Omar, Jr (Kyle), Steven Jay (Laury), 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and his brothers and sisters. Leon was employed with the South Jersey Gas Company for 41 years and retired in 1998. Leon and his wife Emily owned and operated the Kozi Inn/Eagle's Nest in Franklinville, NJ for 17 years. Leon enjoyed antique cars and was an active member of the Nostalgia Knights Car Club. He loved donating his time to car shows raising money for the Veterans, St John of God, and many other organizations. Leon loved giving of himself and was always there to give a helping hand to anyone in need. He has touched many people with his laughter and friendship and will be truly missed. Friends may greet the family on Friday, September 7, 2018 after 10 am in the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ. Funeral service will be at 12 pm. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Park.
