Obituary of John Morris Parks

John "Pete" Morris Parks, Jr., age 74, died on May 13, 2019 at his home in Pitman where he lived since 1978. Pete began his career in Pennsylvania at Selinsgrove State School and Hospital. He then became a Special Education Teacher with the Vineland School District. He later worked in public relations in hospitals in the South Jersey area. Pete went back to Education and retired in 2012 as a Learning Consultant for Vineland School District.

Pete had a passion for being Santa Claus. For over 20 years, he was Santa at the Pitman Studio and the Deptford Mall. Pete loved the Lord and his family. He was an active member of Joy Fellowship Church in Pitman.

Survived by his wife of 49 years, Diana Jean (nee Kunkle), children Jennifer (Benjamin) Goldman, John III (Kerry), Jessica Parks (Jamie Quemore), and grandchildren Ethan and Mikaela Brown.

Friends may greet the family on Saturday after 10am in Joy Fellowship Church, 309 Florence Ave, Pitman, NJ 08071. Memorial Service will be at 11am. Interment Gloucester County Veteran's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Samaritan Health and Hospice, 5 Eves Dr, Suite 300.
