Obituary of Bruce Charles Lowden

Bruce Charles Lowden, age 69, died on August 19, 2019, with family by his side. 

Bruce lived most of his life in Pitman, graduating from Pitman High School in 1967. After graduating from RCA Technical School, he accepted a position at RCA Space Center, Princeton where he developed components used on the lunar camera that landed on the moon in 1971.  Bruce retired from Ktron Corp. after 37 years in Sales/Marketing.

Volunteerism was important to Bruce.  He was a volunteer fireman with Pitman Fire Company #1, elected President of the Pitman Soccer Assn and was a coach for many years.  Bruce was a member of Kiwanis.  He enjoyed participating/working with the Pitman Republican Committee and served on the Planning/Zoning Board for nine years.  Pitman Christmas Party for Kids was very dear to Bruce.  He enjoyed helping shop for toys and working the kitchen during the annual party.

Bruce enjoyed camping with family and friends, visiting the Maine coast and spending time on Thomas Pond in Raymond, ME. Recently he co-founded Neck of the Woods Brewery.

Survived by his wife of 49 years, Barbara (nee Judd); children Nancy Lynn (Paul) McIntyre, Karen (Frank) Price, and David (Megan); grandchildren Matthew, Andrew, Ella, Christopher, Luke, Addison, Logan, and baby Lowden to arrive in October; his sister Cynthia Borchmann (Gerald), brother-in-law Daniel Borregard, mother-in-law Jane Judd, aunt Ellen Martin and many nieces and nephews. Bruce was predeceased by father Charles Edward, mother Catherine Bernice (nee Duffin), and sister-in-law Nancy Ellen Borregard (nee Judd).

Visitation Friday from 9 am – 11:30 am at the Kelley Funeral Home – 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman. Funeral service to follow at 11:30 am. Interment in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
