Obituary of Samuel J. Leonardi

Samuel J. Leonardi, September 3, 2019, age 95 after surviving more than three years after the death of his beloved wife of 70 years, Annie Kate, passed away peacefully at his longtime home in Pitman.

Throughout his brilliant career at Mobil Oil, Sam developed two signature products. Mobil One synthetic motor oil and kept the space shuttle flying with his micro fog lubrication system. Away from work he was a true Renaissance man. He became an award-winning Nature Photographer, lecturer, Gardner, wine maker, outdoorsman, fisherman, sports fan, sailor, canoeist, avid golfer, swim coach (even though he couldn’t swim), and devoted husband and family man.

Survived by his four children, Stephen (Kathy), Alan (Loretta), Susan, and Carol (Richard Clark), six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
