Obituary of Harvey Travis Corbett
Harvey Travis Corbett, 82, cherished husband, beloved father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2019.
He was born in 1936 to Roland and Harriet Corbett in Queens, New York. Harvey is survived by his loving wife Mildred (nee DiLoreto) Corbett, his son Frederick and daughter Jeanne Corbett Melloni. Beloved granddad to grandchildren Chelsea and Melanie Corbett and Ryan and Julia Melloni. He is preceded in death by his brother Roland Corbett and former spouse Nancy Ann Corbett.
He grew up in Cambria Heights, NY and graduated from Andrew Jackson High School. He received a BS in Business from Hofstra University in 1958 and was Commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S Army. During his 4 years in R.O.T.C., he was named Commander – Company Q-8 of the Pershing Rifles Honor Society and was a member of the Scabbard & Blade Honor Society. Upon graduation, he began military service as a 2nd Lieutenant, Infantry and reached the rank of Captain in 1962.
Harvey was a senior banking executive whose distinguished career in financial services marketing and advertising spanned nearly 40 years with major banking companies in New York, New Jersey, Delaware, and Pennsylvania,
Active in his local church and community, he was a member of The Brotherhood of St. Andrew, the West Chester National Exchange Club and a proud member of the Parke Place Veterans Association.
An avid reader with a keen interest in world history and Sir Winston Churchill, he enjoyed painting, photography and travel.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 15,2019 at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, 315 Highland Terrace, Pitman, NJ. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donation be made to the Church of the Good Shepherd Stained Glass Fund or the Wounded Warrior Project - P.O.
