Obituary of Richard J. Brown

Richard J. Brown, age 67, died on January 3, 2020 surrounded by family and friends. Born in Alabama, Richard graduated from Glassboro High School in 1970 and received his Bachelor's Degree from Glassboro State College in 1974. He was an educator and retired in 2017 from Rowan College of Gloucester County where he was Director of Advising and taught math classes. Rich was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Pitman and participated in Bible Study. He loved attending high school football games, especially Glassboro High School. He was a lifelong "Bama" fan. Roll Tide! Survived by his children Kristina (Eugene) Park, Corky (Cari), Jennifer (Catharine), Michelle (Paul) DeCraene, grandchildren Aisling and Eden Park, Ethan and Mikaela Brown, Zinnia Kassel, Theodore and Stella DeCraene, siblings Julia, Barbara (Hank) Clark, Robert, Margaret (Dewayne) Hill, niece and nephew Ann and Lawson Hill, his beloved dog Alice and his best friend John. Friends may greet the family on Wednesday 6-8pm in the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ and on Thursday from 10am – 11am in the First Baptist Church of Pitman, 30 N. Broadway, Pitman, NJ 08071. A funeral service will follow at 11am. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Gloucester County Animal Shelter, 1200 Delsea Dr, Clayton, NJ 08312. Memories may be shared at www.kelleyfhpitman.com.
