Obituary of Frederick Earle Davis

Please share a memory of Frederick to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Frederick E. Davis, age 84, of Woodbury, NJ. Survived by his loving wife of 55 wonderful years, Patricia A. Davis, nee Buchanan. Fred loved dearly his 3 sons, Gregory W. (Michi), Robert E. (Tara) and Erick H. (Stephanie) and his 6 beautiful grandchildren, Mizuki, Mia, Heidi, Owen, Astrid and Griffin. Fred ran his 4th generation family owned funeral home on Delaware Street, proudly serving many families of the Woodbury area. He cherished his many lifelong friendships from the Woodbury High School Class of 1953. He graduated from Eckels College of Mortuary Sciences with Honors. Fred was an active member, and served on the board of The Foundation Board of Underwood-Memorial Hospital, Woodbury Sports Alumni, National Funeral Directors Association, Woodbury Country Club, The Jersey Skiters Ski Club, Salem County Sportsmen's Club, South Jersey Fly Fishers, and Clarksboro Masonic Lodge No. 87. Fred was a past president of Woodbury Rotary, Woodbury Chamber of Commerce, West Jersey Funeral Directors Assoc. and the New Jersey Funeral Directors Assoc. Fred enjoyed traveling, going on an African Safari and a river trip of Russia. Pat dragged him along reluctantly on adventures like hot air balloon rides, white water rafting and alpine skiing. He had a special place in his heart for Rangeley, ME, Gaysville, VT and Ocean City, NJ. Fred loved watching sports, especially Phillies, Flyers Sixers and Eagles. He attended many games, always arriving early and leaving early to avoid traffic. Fred was a good golfer, hitting the links at many great courses. He loved watching the Masters every April. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and fly tying. Fred never missed a meal and knew every diner in South Jersey. Later in life, Fred tripped the light fantastic, raising money for Shadow Equestrian while competing in Dancing with the Gloucester County Stars. Viewing will be private with a grave side service on Wednesday, June 10, at 11 AM at Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro, NJ. A memorial service will be announced for a future date. Arrangements under the direction of Kelley Funeral Home, Pitman, NJ
