Obituary of Clifford P. Michaels

Clifford Paul Michaels, known to his family and friends as Cliff or Kip, 72, passed away at home on June 9, 2020 in Sewell, NJ. He was born on March 29, 1948 in Vintondale, PA. He voluntarily enlisted in the Army during the Vietnam War and served honorably in the 101st Airborne Division and 195th Assault Helicopter Company with numerous military distinctions for combat related actions including the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal for Heroism and The Army Commendation Medal with "V" device. Kip married Carole (Rein) on April 17, 1971 and started their life together. Kip was honored to be a member of the United Mine Workers of America for 50 years. In his later years, he could be found tinkering on computers, impressing us with his knowledge about cars, his amazing green thumb, and lending a hand to all he knew. Kip is survived by his wife Carole, his two daughters, Lori Souza (Fred) and Cathy Mollet (Michael); and his 4 grandchildren: Julia, Tomas, Reid and Cassidy. A private service will be held at Kelley Funeral Home at 125 Pitman Avenue in Pitman, NJ 08071 for immediate family only. Internment will be on 11:00 AM on June 15, 2020 at the Gloucester County Veteran's cemetery located at 240 North Tuckahoe Rd. in Williamstown, NJ for friends and family who wish to attend. Donations in Kip's memory may be made to the Salvation Army in lieu of flowers.
