Obituary of Joseph J. Mattson

Joseph J. Mattson, age 96, died on September 5, 2020 at Chapel Pointe in Carlisle, PA where he lived for the past few years. The son of the late Helen (Homan) and Joseph Stratton Mattson, Joseph was raised in Ferrell, NJ and lived there most of his life. He graduated from Glassboro High School in 1942. Joseph worked for Owens Illinois in Glassboro as a Lithographic Pressman. He was a member of the Ferrell United Methodist Church where he served as the Sunday School Superintendent. He and his wife loved to travel and enjoyed spending time at their homes in Florida and Pennsylvania. He was predeceased in 1998 by his wife Josephine (nee Low), three sisters and half brother. Survived by his children Ellen (Russell Jr.) Clawges, James (Valerie) Mattson, sister in law Joan Munyan, 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Funeral service will be 12 pm Saturday, September 26, 2020 in the Ferrell United Methodist Church, Glassboro Ferrell Rd., Ferrell, NJ. Interment Eglington Cemetery.
