Obituary of Florence E. Murray

Please share a memory of Florence to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Florence Emma Murray, 93, went home to be with the Lord November 21, 2020 (on her mother, Florence Kiley's birthday). She was known by many names such as Mom, grand mom, great-grand mom, great-great grand mom, Aunt Floss, Flossy, and in her younger years, Reds and Carrot Top. Having lived a long and Spirit filled life, she is predeceased by many family members and friends. Her one and only love and husband, William P. Murray Sr., son William P. Murray Jr. and his wife Nancy, step son Robert L. Murray, and granddaughter Gypsy Murray. She is survived by her remaining children, Dorothy (John) Grillo, Michael Murray, James (Rita) Murray, Douglas (Esther) Murray, Seclinda Murray, and Norman (Karen) Murray. Being one of two children herself, the Lord blessed her with seven children, thirty one grandchildren and many great and great-great grandchildren. Her smile would light up any and all rooms and her laugh was contagious and would put anyone in a better mood. Known to all who loved her as "Mom" her endearing spirit invited you into her heart and home without prejudice. Mom gave until she could give no more. Her selfless life was not only a momentous attribute to our family, but an example that made a difference to so many. A long-standing member of Church Of Christ in Sewell NJ; member of Song Spinners; and Order of Eastern Star are just a few of the organizational memberships she was proud to be a part of. Easter, Christmas, and Santa Claus; Scrapple, Scrabble and crosswords puzzles, and of course Sunday football and the Eagle's, are just some of the things she was known to love. Whenever she referred to ANY of her children by name to someone else, it was always "my" then the child's name. A very proud and protective mom. Till we all meet again, Mom, we love you. Services to Celebrate the Life of Florence E. Murray will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association for a Cure, Alzheimer's Association Home Office, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601 or www.alz.org/donate.
