Obituary of Ruth Ann Wood

Ruth-Ann Wood, "Shanna", age 87, of Pitman passed away on January 12, 2021. Shana is survived by her daughters, Debra Higbee (Bruce) of Pitman and Leeann Langowski of Vineland. She was the loving and proud grandmother of Bruce Higbee (Prudence), Rebecca Ionno (Ben), Melissa Bianchini (John), Edward Langowski, Christopher Langowski (Jackie Branks) and Timothy Langowski (Chauntae). She held dear to her heart her great grandchildren Timothy and Julianna Langowski, Danielle Higbee, Spencer Bianchini, Emily and Sebastian Ionno and Ian Langowski. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Shanna was predeceased by her husband Charles H. Moore and her fiancé, George P. Parcels, her sisters Mary Jane McGinnis and Janet-Lee Wright Edwards, and her parents William JB and Helen Wood. Shanna was a real estate agent and engraver. In her later years, she loved working as a crossing guard at Lincoln and Laurel Avenues and checking IDs at Pitman High School. She volunteered as a Girl Scout Leader, was a member of The Daughters of Rebekah, and had been an active member of the Pitman Memorabilia Committee and enjoyed giving tours at the museum in Pitman. Shanna loved Pitman, especially the Grove where she grew up. She or a member of her family have lived on Second Avenue since the late 1800's until recently. She loved a good argument and some drama too, much of which she enjoyed starting. We will miss her and all of her stories. Farewell Shanna, Godspeed.
