I grew up summers on the shores of Lake Wesserunsett. Dr Wyman had a majestic cottage two doors down. I remember Dr Wyman and his wife in their later years. For me Newt was a movie star. Hot cars, speed boat and Andrea a nice family. I remember that Grumman canoe too. I was a lot younger than Newt but we loved him. He gave us a waterski he didn’t want anymore and we used it forever. Newt made us all feel like close neighbors and friends. I will never forget Newt!

I remember Newt from when I was little girl, hanging out with my cousins, Chris and Courtney. My husband, Brian, met Newt later in life, when he was our home inspector for our first home together. We have enjoyed hearing all of the great memories and highlights of his life, and know his memory will live on in. We are both so sorry to hear of his passing, and will keep everyone in our thoughts and prayers. Sending you all much love. God bless,
The Furfari Family

It is with so much sadness that I say goodbye to our beloved Newt. I will always hold you in my heart. You were my partner in crime in Maine. Once I acquired the house in Maine which was Newt's Parents home, I was always working on projects to improve the house. Newt helped me in making a lot of the decisions concerning the house since he now lived down the road in the new house that he and Chris built. When visiting Maine, I would always have Newt down for lunch and dinner. If we weren't having dinner at the house, we would always find an interesting place to check out the local restaurants. We also would make trips to Moose Head Lake, which we all loved to do, especially when all our children & grandchildren would come up to visit.
We will all miss him terribly because he would always be there during the holidays to spend the entire day with our children & grandchildren. He would always bring his special crab dip for us and all the guests to enjoy. Thanksgiving was never complete without a mashed potato discussion (Only some with get this, Lol). He was extremely sociable with everyone, and always had interesting topics to talk & laugh about.
It's been a long almost two years that Newt became ill, and we all tried to keep up his sprits. It was extremely sad when this Covid-19 situation started which caused a lot of pain with trying to visit him for our children & grandchildren.
I have some pictures of us at the beginning of our relationship with our children that were happier times in our life together as were our later times in life.
God Bless him, and it saddens me to think he is gone. We will all meet again once our time has come to leave this earth. Love you Newt, Andrea, our children and grandchildren

Our deepest sympathies go out to all of Newt’s family. We pray all the good memories you shared will provide you with comfort and joy. He certainly loved his kids and grandchildren beyond measure. His legacy will not be forgotten -his passions and talents were abundant and those traits are obvious in all his kids . God rest his soul , until we meet again .... love, Sue & Carlton
