The Reverend Dr. Jack R. Van Ens posted a condolence

Fred Oltmann exuded energy. His voice carried in a room because Fred honed an inflection that was upbeat. His conversational style made people feel comfortable, entertained and touched by Fred's friendliness.
He and his deceased wife Doris jumnped outside the circumference of their lives to help others, as Jesus, the Christ, did. I could always count on Fred to volunteer when a vital cause in the church needed attention,
He helped me see more clearly Jesus' spirit intersecting our lives. My wife Sandy shares these reflections of how Fred shaped our lives for the good.
Sincerely,
Jack R. Van Ens
Fred and Doris' pastor, 1976-1981 at the First Presbyterian Church, Pitman NJ

Dear Don, Patty, Jane, Steve and family
Sending our sincere sadness that Uncle Fred is no longer with us. He was always so happy, sweet and funny. I wish more people were like him. He was great to be around. I’m sure he is in heaven with your mom surrounded by all his favorite things especially his trains.
Love and our deepest sympathy to you all.
Glenn, Lori and our gang
