Obituary of Ronald B. Stanwood

Ronald B. Stanwood, age 75, died on August 25, 2021. Born in Camden, Ron was a resident of Pitman most of his life and graduate of Pitman High School in 1964. He served in the US Air Force as a Sergeant from 1966-1970, during the Vietnam War. Ron received his Bachelor's Degree from Glassboro State College. Ron was a teacher with the Salem County Special Services and Ranch Hope for Boys. Ron was a member of the Pitman United Methodist Church and Trinity United Methodist Church, Mullica Hill. He was a former Treasurer of the Pitman United Methodist Church and former President of the Pitman-Glassboro Jaycees. Ron also volunteered with the Pitman Parade Committee for several years. Ron is survived by his wife of 12 years, Bette Ann (nee Montgomery), sons Michael (Kathy), Chris (Karen), daughter Beth Stanwood, stepsons Mark (Ginger) Vallaster, Paul (Shannon) Vallaster, 7 grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers William (Kris), Mark (Angela) and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his first wife Barbara and parents Lillie Brown Stanwood and Howard Castor Stanwood. Friends may greet the family on Wednesday after 9am in the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ. Memorial service will be at 11am. Interment Gloucester County Veteran's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Pitman United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 758 N.
