Obituary of Walter Carl Cuddy

Walter (Jack) Carl Cuddy of Mickleton (previously of Pitman), age 97, passed away on December 10, 2021. Born in Itmann, West Virginia, he grew up in Chester, Pennsylvania. He joined the United States Marine Corps in March 1943 and was a decorated combat veteran of amphibious assaults on Eniwetok, Guam, and Okinawa. Discharged in December 1945, he subsequently married his high school sweetheart, Edna Lorraine McKanna, and they settled in Pitman, NJ, to raise their family. He was employed by Texaco at the Eagle Point Refinery for nearly 35 years. A deeply committed and devoted family man, he spent most of his time supporting activities in which his children participated, most particularly, Pitman Little League, Boy Scouts, and Pitman Garden State League Baseball Team. A lifetime Mason, he was also member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Mullica Hill. He was predeceased by his wife Lorraine Cuddy. He is the father of Jack Cuddy (Kathy), Fred Cuddy (Claudia), Sharon Mineer (Steve); grandfather of Lori (Kevin), Stephanie (Tony), Sandy (Jason), John (Hilary), Alex (Jennifer), and Andy (Jenna); and great grandfather of Jack, Nick, John, Sylvia, Mackenzie, and Sophie. His funeral service will be private.
