Obituary of Evelyn J. Laubaugh

Evelyn Joanne Laubaugh (Nee Snyder), age 87, passed away December 28, 2021 after a brief illness. Born February 18, 1934, in Grass Lake, Michigan, she was the 4th of 6 children born to David Leroy Snyder and Lillian Marie Wilson. She has lived in Mantua for the past 48 years. She attended Randolph High School where she was a cheerleader and all-around friend to many of her classmates. Upon graduation she attended the University of Akron while being employed as a secretary at the General Tire Company. She married Merrill O. Laubaugh March 31, 1956, and they were married 47 years at Merrill's passing. She was an Army wife of 23 years, following her soldier husband around the world. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many callings. She especially loved working with the children. Survived by her 5 children, Laura Gellenthin of Pitman, Bryan (Robin) Laubaugh of Wadsworth, OH, Kenneth (Susan) Laubaugh of Liberty, MO, Clinton (Melanie) Laubaugh of Gibbsboro, NJ and Nathan (Tiffany) Laubaugh of Swedesboro, NJ. Brother David (Ilene) Snyder of Hudson, OH and Carol Sprague of Akron, OH, 17 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren whom she loved very much. Relatives and friends are invited to call from 9:30 to 11am on Saturday, January 8th at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Lambs Rd., Mantua. Funeral service will be at 11 am.
