Obituary of Marie L. Plum

In Loving Memory Marie Plum was called home to be with her Savior peacefully on December 20, 2021, at the age of 92 years old. She was residing in Indiana with family when the angels came for her. Marie lived in Pitman over 65 years and was dearly loved by many. She dedicated countless years to serving the community of Pitman. As an elementary school teacher for over 20 years, she impacted hundreds of students with her love of education. She also served on the Pitman Zoning Board for over 20 years and as an election poll worker for 30 years. Marie loved Pitman, NJ and lived in the family home for 63 years, before moving in with family in 2020. It was the home that was purchased and renovated by her late husband Richard J. Plum. Marie is survived by her 4 children, Mark Plum, Susan Glenn, Nancy Sensenig, and Lisa Fanz. She had 7 grandchildren, whom she adored: Alyssa Plum, Maura and Kera Jo Glenn, Tyler and Megan Sensenig, and Casey and Lindsey Fanz. Even as her body began to fail, Marie's mind remained sharp. She purposed to talk to family and friends daily while living in Indiana. She was a great listener and full of encouragement for all. Marie shared with her children, "I have had a wonderful life, so blessed," before her passing. It was of great comfort and joy to her family to know that she was spending her first Christmas in 23 years with her husband in the arms of the Lord. Marie went home with the promise fulfilled of her favorite Psalm 91: "With long life I will satisfy you and show you my salvation." A celebration of Marie's life will be held Saturday April 9, 2022 at 11:00AM in the KELLEY FUNERAL HOME, 125 Pitman Ave., Pitman, NJ where friend's may call from 10:00am to 11:00AM.
