Barbara A. Blackman (nee Dodge), age 75 years, of Sewell, and formerly of Pitman, NJ, passed away on July 30 at Inspira Hospital, Mullica Hill. Born in Patterson, NJ, to Mary and Robert Dodge on October 20, 1946, she attended Sparta High School and graduated in 1964. She went on to earn a degree in Music Education from Glassboro State College. Barbara worked as a K-12 Music Teacher for the Clayton School District where she met her husband, Phil Blackman. Together, they went on to form their fundraising company, P&B Fundraising, Inc. During that time, Barbara raised their two children and was the Choir Director for St. Catherine's Church in Clayton, NJ. She was a skilled seamstress and quilter, and she loved making beautiful gifts for others. She enjoyed camping, attending concerts, reading, word games, and spending time with family and friends.
Survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Philip Blackman, children; Patricia (Scott) Dunn and Steven (Megan) Blackman, grandchildren; Tyler, Rhys, Evelyn, Lukas, and Natalie, sister; Linda (Tim) Dooley, brother; Robert (Barbara) Dodge, many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Friday, August 5 from 10AM to Noon in the KELLEY FUNERAL HOME, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ. Memorial service at Noon.
