Obituary of Ronald T. Sweeney

Ronald Talbot Sweeney passed away suddenly on March 21, 2022 (59) in Loon Lake, Washington. Ronald is survived by his beloved wife Mary (nee Duignan) Sweeney and was predeceased by his cherished furbabies Sammy, Batman, Squeeky, Rudi and Rex. Ronald was born on October 19, 1962 to Frank and Sara (nee Adams) Sweeney and was raised in Mantua, and lived most of his life in West Deptford before moving to Loon Lake, WA. He graduated (1981) from Clearview Regional High School where he was a member of the football, basketball and baseball teams. Ron served in the U.S. Navy from 1982 to 1986 aboard the U.S.S. L.Y. Spear and the U.S.S. Barney. After the Navy Ron was employed as a pipe fitter, well driller and machine operator. Ronald was a loving and devoted husband to Mary and was an amazing father to his miniature schnauzers. Ron was a considerate, kind, generous man with a wonderful sense of humor. Ron and Mary were soulmates and did almost everything together. Ronald was the ultimate sports fan. He loved all Philadelphia sports teams but in particular the Eagles. He enjoyed watching sports and listening to sports commentary shows. Ron also enjoyed cooking and developing recipes. Ronald is predeceased in death by his parents Frank and Sara (nee Adams) Sweeney, sisters Mary Adams, Sara "Babe" Farestad, Francis Kircher, his brothers Frank Sweeney Jr., Arthur Curtis Sweeney and sister-in-law Susan (Steve) Young. Ronald is survived by his sisters Cindy (Mike) Troyner, Eileen (Chuck) Foster, brothers-in-law Tryg Farestad, Frank Kircher, Patrick Smith (Jonathan Clark), sister-in-law Nicole Smith (Keith Delgado), along with an aunt, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may greet the family Tuesday, October 4, 2022 from 9:00-10:45am in the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ. Funeral mass will be 11am at the Church of the Incarnation, 240 Main St, Mantua, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation in Ronald's name be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or a local animal shelter or rescue.
