Obituary of Jennifer B. Andrade

Jennifer Black Andrade, age 60 years, died October 5 at her home in Pitman. Born in Camden, she graduated from Pitman High School in 1980, and Barton College in 1985. She started her teaching career at Portsmouth Public Schools in Virginia, and also taught at Chesapeake Community College, Moreno Valley School District in California, Atlantic Co. Special Services, Salem City School District, and Pitman Public Schools. She retired from the Mantua Township School District in 2019 where she had been teaching for 17 years. Jennifer was a longtime member of the Pitman United Methodist Church where she had been a faithful servant giving her time to the Administrative Board, UM Women of Faith, Potter's Hand, Hannah Circle, and Project Director for missions in LaPalmilla, Mexico. Predeceased by her parents Gwen and George Black, and her sisters, Bonnie Lee Black and Margaret Black-Nelson. She is survived by her son Jeremy Andrade and his wife Rebecca, grandson Theo, and sisters Georgia Black and Rev. Dr. Kathy Black. Friends may call on Friday from 6PM to 8PM at the Pitman United Methodist Church, 758 N. Broadway, Pitman, NJ and on Saturday from 9AM to 10:30AM. Funeral service at 10:30AM. Interment Eglington Cemetery. We would ask that anyone considering sending flowers would consider making a donation to her memorial fund instead.
