Obituary of Anne Catherine Kerr

Please share a memory of Anne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Anne Catherine Kerr (Myers), age 91, went to her heavenly home on October 22, 2022. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Anne, also known as Nancy to her family and friends, graduated from John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls High School in Philadelphia. Anne married John (Jackie) on May 5th, 1951, started their family in Grays Ferry as members of St. Gabriel's parish, and in 1965 moved the family to Vandenburg Air Force Base in California to support Jackie as he worked on the US Space program. In 1967 they settled in Glassboro, NJ to raise their children. Anne worked as a tax manager, auditor, and teacher for H&R Block as well as other accounting businesses in South Jersey. She prepared taxes for friends and family and was one of the first to use PC software as a tax tool. Anne had a miraculous mind, playing Jeopardy and solving word puzzles through her final days. She was an active member and CCD teacher for Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Glassboro, and a member of the Cape May chapter of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians. Her family was her ministry, and she lived her life sharing the values of faith, family and love. Anne was the rhythm and heart of a family that loved music. This poem reflects the spirit of the beautiful soul that was Anne. "Since before any of us were born, God planned for us to share our lives with each other. He knew exactly how our strengths and weaknesses would balance one another, and the depth of love, understanding, and commitment we would learn to feel. He knew the richness of our separate characters would be developed through the hard times, and that mutual trust and respect would be born as a result of overcoming the trials together. He knew that we would laugh together, and cry together. He knew we needed each other, to hug, to help, to teach, to serve… to love" Gail C. Copeland© Anne will be greatly missed by her family, friends and community. She was predeceased by her husband John H. Kerr, son James Kerr, and brothers George R., William Russell, and Thomas. Survived by her children Marianne Kerr Green (Richard), Theresa Kerr Burns (John), Patricia Kerr Winans (Christopher), Sean S. Kerr (Yvonne), Michael P. Kerr (Maria), Nancy Kerr Carey (Reginald), Thomas R. Kerr (Caroline), grandchildren and great grandchildren ranging in ages from just under 1 to 47, sisters Catherine Rementer, Mary Frances DiAntonio, and many wonderful nieces and nephews. She treasured her lifelong friends and welcomed anyone into her family with generations calling her 'mom'. Services will be on Friday, October 28th, 2022. Friends may greet the family from 9:00 am until 10:30 am at the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ 08071. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am at Mary, Mother of Mercy Parish, Our Lady, Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church, 161 Pitman Ave., Pitman, NJ 08071. Interment will be private at a later date at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, those desiring make a contribution to Our House Ministries, a faith-based recovery program working in the underserved communities of Philadelphia. https://www.ourhouseministries.org/
