Obituary of William A. Glaser

GLASER, William Andrew, age 91, of Pitman, NJ, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2023. He was born on December 30, 1931, in Philadelphia, PA and grew up in Pitman, NJ, where he lived for 80+ Years with his beautiful wife Lena C. (Née Mastrangelo), to whom he was married for more than 63 years Until her passing in 2021. He proudly served in the US Navy and Reserves until he began working at Owens-Illinois in Glassboro, NJ, where he never missed a day of work until his retirement. He served as the Treasurer for the Union For many years at O-I and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. While retired, he enjoyed Working as a crossing guard for Pitman Public schools. He was a generous supporter of many charitable Causes and was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Pitman, NJ, and Mary, Mother of mercy Parish in Glassboro, NJ. He loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren, which included traveling, annual vacations in Wildwood Crest and the Poconos and numerous family get-togethers each year. His interests were far and wide, and he enjoyed collecting various memorabilia. He was an avid sports fan and loved watching his Philly sports teams. Throughout his life, he enjoyed bowling, fishing, crabbing, gardening and reading among other things. He will long be remembered for his love of life and food - especially his wife's cooking, his ability to repair anything, penchant for giving unsolicited advice and/or opinions and his spirited laugh while teasing his beloved wife and others. Bill was predeceased by his Wife, Lena (Née Mastrangelo) Glaser; mother, Mary R. (Née Valeno) Glaser; father, John William Glaser and sister, Catherine D. Richardson. He will be dearly missed by his five surviving children: Deborah L. (John) Gale, NJ; Donna L. (Mark) Catterall, NJ; William J. Glaser (Teri), NJ; Diane L. (Randall) Reitenbach, OH; Theresa M. Hall, NJ. His 16 Grandchildren: Laura Mackie, Lynda (Dylan) Lee, Natalie Catterall (Chris) Harsh, Ryan (Heather) Catterall, Michelle Catterall, Nathan, Zachary & Jacquelyne Hall; Ronnie & Josh Hall; Nicholas, Michael, Alyssa & Jenna Reitenbach; John and Jeffrey Gale. And his 6 Great-Grandchildren: Beckett & Kyler Reitenbach, Roman Reitenbach, Morgan & Summer Lee, and Aubrey Catterall. Relatives and Friends may call on Monday, January 16, 2023, from 9:00-10:30AM AM at Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave., Pitman, NJ, followed by a funeral mass at our Lady Queen of Peace Church beginning at 11:00 AM.
