Obituary of Janice L Hoolahan

Please share a memory of Janice to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Janice "Jan" Lee (Holland) Hoolahan passed away with loving family by her side on January 20, 2023 at the age of 87 after living a beautiful life filled with love and adventure. The daughter of Leo and Julia (Marsh) Holland, Jan was born in Wisconsin before moving to New Jersey in 1937. She attended Glassboro High School. Jan met the love of her life, David Hoolahan, at only 17 years old, and were married in 1952 and were together for nearly 65 years, raising their four children, Dave, Ronnie, Judy Lee and Alan "Bub". They resided in Pitman, N.J. for 23 years before moving to Franklinville, N.J. for the next 30 years. Jan was an avid reader and crocheter. She loved camping at Moosehead Lake, Maine and bowling with the Monday afternoon Flowers League. Jan was the neighborhood Avon lady for 25 years. She is a lifetime member of the Clayton Elks Lodge #2132 where she served in many leadership roles including president of the Lady's Auxiliary. Also known as "Grambo", Jan was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved her chances to travel to the family cabin in Maine for deer hunting and bear hunting in Canada. She loved her trips to Lake Ontario and fishing on her son's boat. Jan loved Philly sports and could often be found yelling at a Flyers game. She also enjoyed playing cards with her family. Of all the things Jan is known for, being "Mom-Mom" was her favorite and seeing her nine grandchildren, Brian, Jennifer Lee, Christina, Matthew, Ronnie, Stephanie, David Kenneth, Amber Lee and Juliana Lee, grow-up meant everything. She also adored her 14 great-grandchildren and being surrounded by the love and chaos of every family event and Sunday night family dinner. Jan is survived by her three children, Dave (Karen) Hoolahan, Judy Lee (Hoolahan) Owens, and Alan "Bub" (Pam) Hoolahan; daughter-in- law, Julia (Hall) Hoolahan; brother Butch (Diane) Holland; sister-in-laws Joan Hoolahan and Margaret Claiber; her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. Jan is preceded by her husband, David Hoolahan; son, Ronald John Hoolahan Sr.; parents, Leo and Julia Holland; brother, Ronald L. Holland. Family and friends are welcome to join for a viewing on Thursday, January 26 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and are invited to join a celebration of life for Jan following at 11 a.m. at Kelley's Funeral Home in Pitman, N.J. Interment to follow at Bethel Cemetery, Sewell, N.J.
