Obituary of Warren Arthur Swartwood

Warren Arthur Swartwood, age 82, died on March 19, 2023 at his home in Glassboro. Warren lived in Pitman for many years before moving to Glassboro. Born and raised in Ashley, PA, Warren graduated from Ashley High School in 1958 and received his Bachelor's Degree from East Stroudsburg University. He served in the US Army from 1962-1968. Warren began his career in 1966 at Pitman High School teaching chemistry until his retirement in 2005. During this time, he served as chairman of the Science Department, coached track, football, served as auditorium manager and chaperoned many proms. He was instrumental in the Pitman students' lives. Warren was also a professor at Gloucester County College for many years. He loved traveling to Disney World and loved roller coasters and his Eagles. His son and he enjoyed these over the years. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He had the most generous heart and gave support to those close to him. His humor and laugh will be remembered. He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Brigitte (Eichholz), son Warren R. (Heather), grandchildren Collin, Brenden, Quinn, brother Wayne (Sandra), niece Diana and nephew Robert. He was predeceased by his nephew David. Friends may greet the family after 9:30am on Friday in the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ. Funeral service will be at 11am.
