Obituary of William Charles Martin

William Charles Martin, age 78, died on March 30, 2023. Born and raised in Collingswood, William graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1964. He served in the US Navy as a sub mariner during the Vietnam War from 1965-1969. William began working for Haddonfield as a parking enforcement officer later becoming a dispatcher. He moved to Pitman in 1988 and became a dispatcher for the Borough of Pitman. William retired from Gloucester County Dispatch in 2007. He enjoyed going to the casinos, cruises and vacationing in the Caribbean. William loved dogs and had a great sense of humor. He was predeceased by his stepson Brian Morano, his twin sisters Beverly and Barbara and his brothers. Survived by his wife Penelope Carey-Martin, stepson Louis (Misty) Morano Jr., grandddaughter Brianna Morano and her mother Patricia and grandson Ronan Morano. Friends may greet the family after 11am on Thursday, April, 13th in the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ. Memorial service will be at 12PM. Interment Gloucester County Veteran's Cemetery. Those desiring may make a contribution to the Gloucester County Animal Shelter.
