Obituary of Sebastian Benjamin “Ben” Ruggeri

Benjamin Ruggeri, age 88 years, died June 30, 2006 at his daughter's home, surrounded by his family. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was a long time resident of So. Phila. He was a self employed meat cutter for 40 years in South Philadelphia and owner of Benny's Prime Meats. He was an active member of St. Monica's Church in Philadelphia. He retired to Sea Isle City, and was active in St. Joseph's Parish, where he served as usher and altar server for 20 years. He moved to Parke Place in Sewell to be closer to his family and became active at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, serving as a Sacristan. He was a 4th Degree member of Knights of Columbus, the Men of Malvern for over 50 years, and an avid Phillies fan. He was predeceased by his wife Louise (nee Screnci) and grandson Vincent Siciliano. Survived by his daughters, Terese (Vince) Siciliano, Catherine (Roger) Green, MaryAnn (Henry) McGough, grandchildren Michele, Ryan, Elise, Meghan, great grandchildren Nicole and Lindsey. Also survived by his brother Frank Ruggeri. Friends may call on Wednesday from 7 to 9 PM and 8:30 to 9:30 AM Thursday in the KELLEY FUNERAL HOME, 125 Pitman Ave., Pitman, NJ. Funeral Mass at 10 AM in Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Pitman, NJ. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his memory may be sent to Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Drive, Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053.
