Keith Bennett Messer, age 56 years, of Sewell, NJ died suddenly August 12, 2007. Born in Pt. Pleasant, NJ, he was raised in California and had been a resident of Sewell for 11 years. He was a graduate of Sterling High School in 1968, Glassboro State College in 1972, and Penn State Univ., where he received his Masters degree in Mathematics in 1974. He taught at Paulsboro High School for 1 year and has been a teacher at Pitman High School since 1974. He was an adjunct professor at Rowan University and Camden County College for 26 years. He was a member of the NJEA, NEA, and the Mustang Car Club. Predeceased by his adoptive mother Meta (Rhodes) Messer. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Elizabeth Anne (nee Johnson), son Taylor at home, and daughter Krystal of LosAngeles, CA, adoptive father Bennett A. Messer, birth parents Lynn Balzer and Robert Rhodes. Also survived by his sisters Kathy Kane and Gail Cecere, both of Texas, and his ex wife Karen Siefring of Glassboro. Friends may call on Friday, Aug. 17 from 6 to 9 PM in the KELLEY FUNERAL HOME, 125 Pitman Ave., Pitman, NJ and on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:45 AM in the Pitman High School Auditorium, Linden and Waverly Avenues. Funeral service at 11 AM. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make a contribution to the Keith B. Messer Memorial Scholarship Fund, 51 N. Woodbury Rd, Pitman, NJ 08071.
