James J. Quinn, known to many as Big Jim or Quinnie, age 87, passed away at his home in Pitman surrounded by his family and friends, on September 10, 2007. He graduated from Woodstown High School in 1939 where he played football and basketball. He proudly served in the U.S. Armed Forces as an airplane mechanic during World War II, and was employed as a machinist at E.I. Dupont for more than forty years, retiring in 1979. He was an active member of VFW Post #6469.
Beloved husband of the late Jane M. (nee Kindle), devoted father of Dennis K. Quinn and his wife Toni of Somerdale, Susan J. Bunting and her husband Mark of Clarksboro, Debbie K. Litka and her husband Raymond. Also survived by his brother Bill and wife Scottie of Clearwater, FL and his only grandchild Daniel J. Romano of Pitman.
Friends may call Thursday from 7 to 9 PM at the KELLEY FUNERAL HOME, 125 Pitman Ave., Pitman, NJ and Friday from 9 to 10 AM. Funeral service at 10AM. Interment Bethel Cemetery, Hurffville, NJ. Those desiring may make a contribution to the donors charity of choice.
