Obituary of Barbara Jean Stanwood

Barbara Jean Stanwood (nee Kern) age 65 died on November 12, 2007 at Temple University Hospital. Born and raised in Bronx, NY she graduated from St. Helena's High School in 1960. She lived in Pitman for over 30 years. Barbara worked for over 30 years at Rowan University with 27 years in the Health and Exercise Science Department. She retired in 2005. She was a member of the Pitman United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women where she was a Deborah Circle Leader. She was a former Girl Scout Leader and secretary to the Pitman Babe Ruth League.
She is survived by her husband Ronald B., children Michael (Kathy), Christopher (Karen), Elizabeth (Ken) Walker all of Pitman, grandchildren Morgan Stanwood, Sam Walker, Katie Stanwood, Nora Stanwood, Hannah Walker, Abbey Walker, Michael Stanwood, brother in laws William (Kristine) Stanwood of Ocean City, NJ, Mark (Angela) Stanwood of Pitman and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Friday from 7-9pm and 9-10am on Saturday in the Pitman United Methodist Church, Broadway and Lambs Rd., Pitman, NJ. Funeral service Saturday 10am. Interment Gloucester County Veteran's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Pitman United Methodist Church Building Fund, PO Box 7, Pitman, NJ 08071.
