John M. Fisher, Jr., age 87 years of Pitman, NJ, died December 11 at Kennedy Memorial Hosp., Wash. Twp., NJ. Born in Phila., PA, he lived most of his life in Pitman. He retired in 1983 from RCA in Camden where he was employed as an engineer for 30 years. He was a member of Pitman Lodge #197 F & AM, the Consistory of the 32nd degree Mason, the Crescent Temple of the Shriners, an elder and member of the 1st Presbyterian Church of Pitman, a life member of VFW Post #6469 Pitman, District Commissioner of Glouc. and Salem County Boy Scouts of America, and an amateur ham radio operator. He worked as an electrician for vaudeville acts at the Broadway Theatre in Pitman, set up communication for the Pitman 4th of July parade, and participated in Crop Walk. Husband of the late Gladys (nee Heritage) Fisher. Survived by sons Theodore J. (Ruth) of St. Cloud, FL, Ralph E. of Phila., granddaughters Kitty Scott of Georgia, and Elise Longoria of Sanford, FL, and his companion Marie Jacoby. Friends may call after 1 PM on Saturday at the 1st Presbyterian Church, 305 S. Broadway, Pitman, NJ, 08071. Memorial Service at 2 PM. Interment private in Eglington Cemetery.
