Obituary of John Joseph Dunn, Jr.

A great man, John J. Dunn, Jr., age 60, passed peacefully with his family by his side, on April 3, 2008. John was born in Pearl River, NY, and raised in Haddon Heights, NJ where he graduated from Haddon Heights High School in 1966. This soldier served two tours of duty in the US Army during the Vietnam War in the 20th Engineer Brigade from 1967 -1970. John worked over 35 years for the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 825, as a welder and diesel mechanic. This faithful loving husband, father, and grandfather lived in Pitman since 1971, where he loved spending time with his children and he adored his grandchildren. John was an avid reader and writer; also he enjoyed football and classical music. John is survived by his wife of 37 years, Karen R. (nee Radcliffe), his children Catherine E. of Clayton, John J. III of Bangor, ME, Christopher R. of Pitman, Patrick M. (Lauren) of Harrisonville, grandchildren Catherine W. and Jaclyn N. The oldest of twelve, John's siblings include Thomas (Nancy), Michael (Gail), Patrick (late Rosemary), Robert (Suzanne), Timothy (Judi), Denis (Leslie), Joseph (Joan), Mary Dunn, David (Kassie), Stephen (Betsy), and Dorothea (John) Specht, aunts Sister Catherine Shean and Mary Shean, and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Thursday, April 10 from 7-9 pm in the KELLEY FUNERAL HOME, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ, Friday after 9:30 am at St. Rose of Lima Church, 704 Kings Hwy, Haddon Heights, NJ. The Funeral Mass will be Friday at 11am.
