Joseph Charles Dougherty born November 4, 1942 in Philadelphia, PA passed on May 1, 2008 after a prolonged illness. Survived by wife Marjorie A. (nee McCorkle), daughters Shaphin (Daniel) Dougherty, Kimberly (Steven) Dougherty, Danielle (Sean) Dougherty, Jennifer (Rocco) DeBartola, Shannon (James) Newman, Lara Dougherty, brother Jim Dougherty, sister Florence Hardy and seven grandchildren.
Joe was a US Army Veteran serving from 1963-1966. He lived in Pitman from 1980-2005 and in Deptford for the past two years. He was a Program Supervisor for Gloucester County Parks and Recreation and retired in 2006 after 24 years. Over 20 years ago he started the support group
Nar-Anon for families of addicts.
Friends may call after 7pm on Tuesday and 9:00-10am on Wednesday in the KELLEY FUNERAL HOME, 125 Pitman Ave., Pitman, NJ. Funeral mass will be Wednesday 10:30am. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1851 Old Cuthbert Rd., Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.
