Benjamin Franklin Richards, Sr., age 89 died on June 16, 2008 at his son's home in Pitman where he lived since 2006. Prior to moving to Pitman, he lived in Hardingville. He was formerly of Hurffville and was a member of the Hurffville Volunteer Fire Co. #1 for 61 years. He worked for EI DuPont in Gibbstown as a sheet metal worker. He retired in 1983 after 30 years. Benjamin was a member of the Hardingville Bible Church for over 60 years and a former member of the Pitman Masonic Lodge #197 F&AM. He was the husband of the late Hazel. Survived by children Benjamin F., Jr. (Dolores) of Downingtown, PA, Daniel (Carol) of Pitman, grandchildren Joy C. Brewster, Melody R. Richards, Benjamin F., Richards III, Gayle Tschopp, Bryan and Paul Richards and great grandchildren Aiden B. Rajsky, Lincoln J. Rajsky, Emma R. Brewster, Wesley Tschopp, Nathyn Tschopp, and Madison Richards. Predeceased by great grandson David Tschopp. Friends may call 9:30-10:30am on Friday in the Hardingville Bible Church, 284 Whig Lane Rd., Hardingville, NJ, 08343. Funeral service will be at 11am. Interment Hardingville Church Cemetery. Those desiring may make a contribution to the Hardingville Bible Church at the above address.
