Obituary of Dayton Charles Cooper

Dayton Charles Cooper, Jr., age 68, died at his home in Pitman, on March 19. Born in Phila, PA, he graduated from Paulsboro High School in 1965, and served in the U.S. Army at the end of the Vietnam War. He attended Gloucester County College, and graduated from Glassboro State College in 1975. He graduated from Drexel University in 1977 with a Master's Degree in Computer Science. He retired from Computer Science Corp. of Moorestown, NJ as a Computer Scientist in 2009 after 23 years with the company. Dayton served as Pack Master of Cub Scout Troop #266, Assistant Scout Master of Troop #55, and Committee Chair of Troop #55. He was active in the Pitman Panther Band Association. He enjoyed working the scoreboard, announcing, and umpiring softball games. He was a former member of Paulsboro Fire Co. #1. Predeceased by his brother Stephen W. Cooper. Survived by his wife of 31 years, Wendy B. (nee Baral), sons D. Charles IV, and Bernard H., and his brother Richard J. Cooper, and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Saturday, March 26 from 1 to 2PM in the KELLEY FUNERAL HOME, 125 Pitman Ave., Pitman, NJ. Memorial service at 2PM.
